Ceremonial Cacao
"Chocolate is a divine, celestial drink, the sweat of the stars, the vital seed, divine nectar, the drink of the gods, panacea and universal medicine."
- Geronimo Piperni
My Story with Cacao
Radha is a devoted cacao lover who has worked with cacao for over a decade. She was one of the first to bring cacao ceremonies to New Zealand.
Radha first encountered cacao served in a ceremonial context in 2012 while living in its native lands of Central America. It was love at first sight, and her deep connection with the spirit of this powerful superfood grew as she learned to prepare the drink from tree to cup.
She has participated in various ceremonies facilitated by shamans, healers, and friends in Mexico, Guatemala, and Peru. In 2014, she began facilitating cacao ceremonies herself in Europe, and later, in 2016, in New Zealand. An experienced space holder, Radha loves sharing her passion for community, authenticity, and self-knowledge alongside the spirit of cacao.
Today, Radha offers public and private cacao circles, an online membership program, and the rare one-month online cacao immersion program.

The What & Why of Cacao

Cacao is a powerful superfood that offers maximum nutritional benefits with minimal calories. Packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, it sits at the top of the superfood list. Containing about 50% healthy fats, cacao boosts metabolism and provides an energy lift without the crash that often follows other stimulants.
Cacao is the best natural source of magnesium, which supports a healthy heart, mental clarity, bone health, and glucose metabolism. It’s also beneficial for preventing diabetes, as well as relieving PMS, constipation, and anxiety.
Rich in antioxidants, cacao is arguably the most detoxifying food available. It contains vitamins A, C, and E, as well as beta-carotene, lycopene, selenium, manganese, and flavonoids—all of which improve blood circulation and lower blood pressure.
Cacao also contains phenylethylamine—often called “the love chemical.” This compound elevates mood, promotes attentiveness, and is especially helpful for conditions such as ADHD, PTSD, and depression.
The active component of cacao, theobromine, is a gentle, long-lasting stimulant found exclusively in cacao. It acts as a cardiovascular stimulant, relaxing muscle tissue, dilating blood vessels, and creating a sense of ease and joy.
Another key component is anandamide, which induces feelings of euphoria and bliss.
Cacao stimulates the production of serotonin, which regulates appetite, mood, and sleep, and dopamine, which plays a role in movement, attention, learning, and emotion.
