About The Event
Evolution in theory and practice - bring your yoga to a whole new level or lay solid foundations as a beginner!
A 10 weeks immersion into Hridaya hatha yoga and the ancient wisdom of yoga, suitable for Every Body.
In this coming series we will focus on the the basic moral principles of Yoga - the Yamas and Niyamas. Principles that can enrich our life with a sense of purpose and connectedness. They form the very foundation of the yogic path and bring the wisdom of yoga off the mat and into our daily life. The topics include non-violence, truthfulness, non-stealing, energy preservation, detachment&generosity, purity, contentment, discipline, self-study, surrender.
Hridaya Yoga stands for “Yoga of the Heart”. It is a unique yet very traditional approach to hatha yoga, a deep and meditative practice, in which the postures are held longer (similar to yin yoga) and the eyes are closed as a way of cultivating awareness and promoting self-enquiry.
Based on traditional Yoga as taught for thousands of years, this yoga course is made comprehensive and engaging equally for complete BEGINNERS as for people with an established practice. You can either start on a solid foundation or choose to enrich your yoga experience with a new style of practice.
The course will take place every THURSDAY EVENING, 6-7.30pm for 10 weeks 12th September - 21 November 2019 (no class on the 31st October)
Each class will consist of a short presentation (of one of the moral aspects of yoga) and discussion, hatha yoga practice (asana - posture and pranayama - breath control), a yoga nidra style of final relaxation and a short meditation. Completing such course will enable you to gain vaster knowledge of yoga and will enable you to take your practice home.
EVERYONE WELCOME! To practice Hridaya Yoga there is no need to be flexible or strong - those qualities will be gradually built as we go.
