~ Gentle meditative yoga and pranayama ~ Hatha yoga is a practice that balances the polarities—the sun (ha) and moon (tha) energy, the yin and the yang within the self with the tools of physical postures (asanas) with breathing techniques (pranayama)
~ Yoga Nidra - The Bliss of Yogic Sleep ~ Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation also known as “yogic sleep” or “effortless relaxation”. It’s usually practiced lying down with a teacher guiding the session. The practice draws our attention inwards, and we learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where our body finds its natural state of equilibrium (homeostasis) – the breath balances and becomes quiet, unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness. Yoga Nidra takes us effortlessly into a state of harmonious, restful being. From here, we can be healed, restored and awakened to our deepest, all-knowing, all-welcoming self. It’s a sublime practice, gaining popularity the world over, and ongoing research continues to prove its effectiveness.
~ Sound Bath ~ There’s a less well-known branch of yoga called Nada Yoga which translates as the yoga of sound. The aim of Nada Yoga is to bring about harmony and balance in your body if you feel tense, anxious or stressed. Sound has been used throughout history as a healing tool that can help elevate your energy and soothe your nervous system. Nada Yoga has two branches - producing sounds (like chanting, reciting mantra, humming, Om, etc.) or receiving sounds. Here we will explore the latter, allowing you to quieten the mind with a relaxing sound bath.
Guided by Radha Iveta, a mediattion and yoga guide (E-CYT500) with over a decade of teaching experience and a seasoned cacao facilitator
